YOUNGSTOCK FOALS MARES STALLIONS

Tawna Amber

SOLD

Chestnut/blaze filly

Born 12/04/24

Sire: Breckenlea Scenario

Dam: Tawna Agnes

Agnes and Rio have done it again - an absolutely beautiful, classy, correct foal - full sister to Red Ember, Aimee, and Apollo. We could not be happier.

This little gem is super-friendly and confident. She’s probably a little bit smaller than her siblings were at the same age.

Agnes has had Red, and now Amber…..we know what comes next!!!

Tawna Flasheart

SOLD

Chestnut/white skewbald colt.

Born 14/04/24

Sire: Breckenlea Scenario

Dam: Tawna Florence

What an absolute little heart-breaker this boy is….achingly pretty and always with the sweetest expression and those tiny little ears pricked.

He’s interested in everything and is going to be a mischief-maker.

Florence x Rio is a new combination for us and it has worked so well that they have been matched again this year. Flossie is a lovely traditional and substantial type of mare which has married up nicely with Rio’s quality.

Tawna Borage

SOLD

Minimally marked skewbald colt.

Born 21/04/24

Sire: Tawna Rubus

Dam: Tawna Pansy

Pansy’s boy has loads of presence, extravagant movement, and has a bold super-friendly nature. He loves people.

Borage is a full brother to last year’s blue-roan Iris. He has two short socks. The only white on his body is a single blob on his rump, which from above, looks rather like a butterfly!

His name follows the plant theme of his parents.

Tawna Teddy Bear

SOLD

Palomino colt

Born 26/04/24

Sire: Tawna Champagne Charlie

Dam: Tawna Dolly Dimple

There’s always at least one mare who catches us out, and this year Dolly can make that claim. Showing no signs at all that she was anywhere near foaling, she thankfully delivered this baby safely.

Ted is a most attractive little boy with a pretty head like his mum and a wonderful front, inherited from his dad.

His new home is in Cornwall so we hope to see him out and about at the shows, along with Aloysius.

Tawna Sorrel

SOLD

Chestnut colt

Born 27/04/24

Sire: Breckenlea Scenario

Dam: Tawna Fuchsia

Sorrel is a topping colt. Proud, strong, well-put-together, lovely well-proportioned limbs, and good bone. He promises to be a good candidate for the show ring/stallion potential. To mature approx 33”

His name follows the plant theme of his mother, but of course it is also another name for a chestnut horse, so seemed most appropriate!

From two skewbald parents, it’s rather surprising that his only white marking is a small upside-down crescent on his forehead! Photo taken Nov -SWSPG show 2 x 1st

Tawna Moonstone

SOLD

Mushroom/white filly

Born 29/04/24

Sire: Tawna Rubus

Dam: Tawna Marina

There’s no denying that Marina is a marvellous little brood mare. She and Rubus have always produced good foals for us, and this little sweetheart is their third mushroom/white. The previous ones were Truffles (now in Austria), and Flash Harry ll (licensed stallion, currently on lease, and available again from the end of next season).

Moon is small, squarely built, with such a pretty head and kind eye - a real charmer.

Tawna Freya

SOLD

Bay/white skewbald filly

Born 02/05/24

Sire: Tawna Rubus

Dam: Tawna Freckles

Freya made her entry into the world at the very civilized hour of 7pm. Mother and daughter make a very attractive pair. This is Freckle’s second foal, the previous one being bay and white Frida, also by Rubus.

Freya started bright bay, but she has darkened like her sister to a deep dark bay..

She is perfectly proportioned - a real miniature version of a bigger Shetland and has the sweetest nature.

Tawna Aloysius

SOLD

Palomino colt

Born 06/05/24

Sire: Tawna Champagne Charlie

Dam: Tawna Alice

Alice is one of our (many) favourites so it was an extra worry as we waited….and waited….and waited for her to have her first foal. As it turned out - with good reason. Feet and nose were coming right but he was upside-down!

He is a really adorable little boy with huge eyes, and is incredibly confident and calm. Alice is the most laid-back mother and he takes his cue from her. He attended his first (very busy) show in August and was totally unfazed.

Tawna Rosario

SOLD

Chestnut/white colt

Born 16/05/24

Sire: Breckenlea Scenario

Dam: Tawna Rosetta

Every foal that Etta and Rio have produced together has been beautiful, stylish and full of quality, and Baby Rio is no exception.

He holds himself so well, with loads of presence and an exquisite head and bold eye.

His markings are well balanced on both sides. He is a sweet-natured little boy with a gentle manner.

Love him!

Tawna Verity

NOT FOR SALE

Chestnut filly

Born 23/05/24

Sire: Tawna Champagne Charlie

Dam: Tawna Victoria

Last to foal, Victoria kept me waiting for what seemed like forever, but she was clearly ensuring her baby was cooked to perfection.

Verity arrived in the early evening - strong, well-covered, and up on her toes in no time.

She is a lovely up-standing filly - full sister to mushroom Viking, and palomino Valentino. She is built like a tank! I wonder if her mane will be as impressively long as Victoria’s?
